Bridge: structure of wood, stone, brickwork, steel, concrete, etc., carrying a road across a river, canal, railway, etc.

Gap: unfilled space; interval; wide separation.

Span: the extent or measure of space between two points or extremities, as of a bridge or roof, the breadth.
